There is nothing like receiving an E-mail that reads “I loved your mixes so much better. Could you do the rest of them?” to brighten up our day. We started pre production on a slew of KOHLS Back To School spots with music editing. These are retail spots that have a lot of “See-Say” moments agains lyrics in the song. With plenty of information delivered by the Announcer, it was challenging to land these vocals parts musically to hit the picture. Since we love to make sure our work is presented close to a final mix, The TV producer (who was new to AP) picked up on this and instantly saw the value in just letting us mix it remotely. We love anyone who is willing to take a chance in something non traditional. With all of the Announcer reads pre recorded and their trust in us woking remotely, we delivered beautiful final mixes at todays standard (–24 LKFS) ready for air.
